Locate Emergency Food

In the five boroughs of New York City alone there are over 1,200 emergency food operations, both soup kitchens and food pantries.  This page contains information about ways in which individuals can contact and utilize these operations to get the food they need.

Hunger Maps

Developed by the New York City Coalition Against Hunger, Hunger Maps is the first ever online locator of hunger and food resources in New York City.  With it you can locate soup kitchens and food pantries by zip code, keyword, or borough.  This tool gives you the name, address, and telephone number of each operation and allows you to situate them geographically on a user-friendly, interactive map.

NYC Hunger Hotline

The NYC Hunger Hotline is a 24 hour phone service which provides hungry New Yorkers with the information they need to access soup kitchens and food pantries in any neighborhood around the city.

Call Toll Free: 1-866-888-8777

Please note: It is possible that the Hunger Hotline may not have the most recent hours of operation or identification requirements of certain kitchens and pantries.  The best way to assure services is to call the emergency food operation directly, in addition to the Hotline.
