Family Rehabilitation

The Family Rehabilitation Program is a substance abuse recovery and foster care prevention program designed to preserve, support and strengthen families, youth and children affected by chemical dependency.  The program provides comprehensive social services in a therapeutic environment to help recovering substance abusers remain sober.

Families who are identified as having a drug problem receive immediate counseling and referrals to appropriate treatment programs. Those who are already in a program, as in the case of babies born with positive toxicology, are monitored for compliance and progress until the treatment is completed.

In addition, clients who have successfully undergone treatment prior to the Family Rehabilitation Program referral are counseled on the dangers and risks involved in the use of drugs.  They are also encouraged to attend support groups such as Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous meetings to help maintain a drug free lifestyle.

Through this program, participants receive individual and family counseling once per week to help identify and discuss issues and circumstances that might lead to negative or abusive behavior.  The case planner helps participants explore the dynamics of family relations, understand the developmental characteristics of adolescents, and develop rules for interacting and relating to family members.  Case planners help families to identify and access basic services, entitlement programs and specific services such as mental health, substance abuse treatment, and domestic violence counseling, along with other services to meet their specific identified needs.
