Center Based Workshops

This workshop series includes topics that are mandated by the Office of Children and Family Services in order to comply with state regulations for child care programs. The series is open to all child care providers and programs.

Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm.
Cost: $150 for three classes.
 

August 24: Hiring and Retaining Staff.

Learn ways to improve your ability to recruit and select the best possible candidate for any position.

August 25: Preventing Childhood Obesity.

In this workshop, directors will use a self-assessment instrument (NAP-SACC) to identify strengths and challenges to healthy eating and physical activity in their child care program.

August 27: Nurturing Healthy Sexual Development (NHSD) and Care for Kids (CFK).

The NHSD training helps participants better understand the sexual development of children, how to respond to children's sexual behaviors and questions in ways that promote healthy development.
 
The goal of the CFK program is to prevent child sexual abuse through sexual health education and promotion. Experience how the curriculum uses six themes to communicate positive messages about sexuality to children; themes which can easily be incorporated into existing early childhood curriculum. Training and materials appropriate for children ages 3 to 8 years.
