CDSC is a private, not-for-profit, community-based organization established in 1975 to provide a range of social services to families in Central Brooklyn, New York.  CDSC's motto—Building Communities By Strengthening Familiesis a constant reminder of our mission: "to provide programs that empower families by helping them to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for successful living in today's society."

CDSC to Host 2nd Annual Starving Artist Art Show + Sale

 

On January 22, 2010, from 6:30 - 10 pm, CDSC will host its second annual Starving Artist Art Show + Sale to benefit the creation of a Community Art Center at CDSC.  Please join us for an evening of good food, art, and entertainment to support this important cause!

Holiday Events at CDSC

 

In the spirit of sharing holiday cheer, CDSC sponsored several holiday events for the community.  Many thanks to everyone who supported our events.  A special thank you to the following for their support for:

Thanksgiving Pantry Distribution:  City Council Member Letitia James, District Leader Olanike Alabi, 57th Assembly District Democratic Club, GlaxoSmith Kline, Gallagher Benefit Services, NYC Coalition Against Hunger, and Western Beef.

Senior Holiday Dinner: Emmanuel Baptist Church, and City Council Member Letitia James.

Holiday Toy Drive: 88th Precinct Community Affairs, New York City Marines Toys for Tots, Brooklyn Chapter of AARP, Group Family Childcare Provider Claire Williams, many community members, and CDSC staff.
